The Brimstone

The Brimstone is one of our hibernators, and is probably our longest living of all our butterflies. I have known them to live for over eleven months, and even found a couple that lived possibly to the ripe old age of over twelve months, give or take a day or two, like this female. Who could quite easily of been flying with her offspring, a rare phenomenon in the world of butterflies.
